Walk the bank first. Flag undercut toes, animal burrows, exposed roots, and debris before the machine goes near the face.
Mow up and down the fall line only. Never traverse a steep bank sideways; a track slip can quickly become a rollover.
Keep the operator above and behind. Stand on the berm or behind a guardrail, never between the machine and the water.
Run blade speed high and ground speed low (1–2 km/h). This keeps available traction ahead of cutting resistance and reduces the chance that a stall develops into a slide.
Dry-day rule. If boots slip on the grass, the mower does not go up. Resume 24–48 hours after heavy rain, once the bank has recovered sufficient surface stability.

Ask whether that figure refers to up-slope or cross-slope operation, what surface was used for the test, and whether the blade was engaged with the machine carrying its normal operating load. A credible specification should make those conditions clear.
