On a 45-degree slope, the old gas-versus-electric debate tilts. A gasoline engine holds full power as long as the tank is full and the air filter is clean, which matters on long, uninterrupted faces. A 48–60 V electric platform trades that endurance for zero exhaust at the cutting edge and a quieter worksite — appealing on occupied ground — but it needs a charging plan and, often, a spare pack.
